2009 SUMMER PROGRAMS2nd/3rd/4th/5th Grade SUMMER Reading Groups are designed for children who may be struggling in learning to read, write and spell, and who may have underlying speech and language issues. These groups are beneficial for any child who has several of the characteristics described in the Dyslexia Screening and Testing section. Kindergarten/First Grade SUMMER Reading Groups are designed for children who may be struggling in learning to read, write and spell, and who may have underlying speech and language issues. These groups are beneficial for any child who has several of the characteristics described in the Dyslexia Screening and Testing section. Many of these children simply need to be taught in a DIFFERENT way than a typical classroom approach to make the reading/spelling process make sense to them. Methodology of teaching instruction in these classes will be multi-sensory, cumulative, structured, and language based. The child does not need a formal diagnosis to participate in these groups. Baseline testing is optional. It would take
about one hour, and the cost would be $125.00. This is for those
who would want a way to compare progress that the student made during
the group lessons. Post testing for comparison purposes is also an
option for the same fee after the 21 sessions have been completed.
